Bonfire Night

Next week is Bonfire Night, an evening of fun, frivolity and fireworks!  An enjoyable festivity enjoyed by the many staff here at Get Laid Beds, with some trying to get their hands on a spare piece of wood or two that we might have lying around the workshop!

Traditionally celebrated by building and burning a huge pile of wood, Bonfire Night is one of the most popular nights of the year – dating back to 1605 with the story of Guy Fawkes and the failed Gunpowder Plot. Ever since then, people have burned his effigy on a Bonfire.

This year though, if you’re running short of firewood, you could yourself… buy a brand new bed (from Get Laid Beds naturally) and use the old bed frame as Bonfire Fuel?!

“Beds are Burning” is actually an old track from Australian Rock Band “Midnight Oil” (we don’t know it either) although VH1 voted it 95 in their Top 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80’s!
