Creating A Peaceful Bedroom

By Jonathan 13 September 2015

Bedrooms are a place to sleep, and relax. It’s important they reflect this. Having a comfy mattress, bed and covers is a very important factor, but paying attention to how the room looks can also help to create a more calming environment.

  1. Try to avoid watching tv, paying bills and doing work bed. this can take the idea way that your bed is for relaxing.

  2. Keeping your room as a relaxing environment is also down to keeping your room tidy. Avoid lots of clutter, and keep the decor relaxing. Avoiding bright colours is essential.

  3. Keeping your room at a correct light is very important. The hormone that is sleep inducing is light sensitive, so creating a relaxing atmosphere is very much down to the correct lighting conditions. While your light is off at night, and your eyes have adjusted, if you can still make out the objects in your room, then it’s too light. Try black out curtains if your current ones are letting some light from the street through.

  4. Keeping your room can also make it more relaxing. Getting to sleep easier is down to the temperature too. Some minor adjustments can help your room become more relaxing. Too hot and your core temperature will be unable to drop, which is essential to switching to sleep mode. Try and keep a window slightly open in the warm season. This will keep a cool breeze into your room, making a more relaxing place to sleep.

So, if you feel your current room isn’t as relaxing as it could be, remember, avoiding bright colours, and avoiding stressful activities such as working while in bed can all benefit you, and help your bedroom become that relaxing place again.
