A common error that people make when buying their bed is that it’s not just all about the bed frame. It’s about a combination of factors that all contribute to the overall experience you will have with your bed. For example, if you buy a quality bed frame but own a poor quality mattress, it is more than likely you will end up with some form of ache each morning because it’s not providing the proper support you require. This theory also works vice-versa: having an excellent mattress but a very low-quality bed frame simply isn’t going to work out. You may be comfortable on the mattress, but you risk frame instability and possibly even collapse, or breakage of slats. Nobody likes sleeping on the floor if there’s a bed available.

It’s for these reasons that taking the time to find the bed that’s right for you is so important. It’s not particularly perplexing, or wearing on the soul, simply make sure that the bed you choose is one that you’re going to be satisfied with in the long term, on a day to day basis. Beds last for a very long time, you definitely don’t want one that’s going to cause you issues constantly over the time of its usage.

As mentioned earlier, finding the right bed comes down to a combination of multiple different variables. First and foremost: the bed frame itself. You’ll need a bed frame that’s stable, well built and not made from cheap materials that are going to stress, break, warp and wear over time. This bed frame is of course, going to be the foundation upon which you base your good nights of sleep.

The next factor is the mattress. Mattresses come in all different shapes sizes and types, don’t rule certain types out because you decide you don’t like them before you’ve even tried them. One might surprise you. Be sure to surf around for the mattress design that you like, and if possible go try it out. To thoroughly test the mattress, kick your shoes off, lie back and appreciate the way the mattress feels with your full weight on it. If it doesn’t feel right, then it’s time to try a different one. Buying a mattress that is comfortable and feels right is crucial, especially as you’re going to spend every night on it from the day you buy it.

Once you’ve decided on the frame and the mattress (in the appropriate size, of course), set them together and settle down early that night to put them to the real test. If they keep up to your standards, then that’s the way to go. You’ve found your perfect balance and your perfect way to a great night’s sleep.
