Sleeping. It seems so simple. But we don’t all sleep in the same positions. And more surprisingly, studies have shown that the position we sleep in, can actually be a reflection on how we are in waking life.  What exactly are these sleeping positions? What do they mean? Whether or not you believe these studies, it’s still certainly an interesting area to consider. Here are a few these sleeping positions along with their meaning.

One of the more common sleeping positions has been named ‘The Fetal’. This position is those who sleep on their side, curling up their legs. The is a comfortable position for a lot of people. It is said those who sleep in this position have a soft and sensitive inside, while remaining tough on the outside.

Another common sleeping position is ‘The Log’. A bit like ‘The Fetal’, the involves the person sleeping on their side, but with their hands by their side, and their legs straight. It’s believed this sleeping position says a person is very sociable. It’s also said they’re very trustworthy, and like to be part of crowds.

‘The Starfish’. Much like the name suggests really. This sleeping position consists of the person stretching out their legs, along with their arms stretched up, close to their head, almost like a starfish. It’s said those who adopt this sleeping position make good friends, and make them their priority. They will often go out their way to help others.

The final sleeping position to look at is‘ The Freefall’ sleeping position involves the sleeper resting on their stomach. Often they’ll have their hand near the pillow. The name of this sleeping position is actually a reflection on the believed meaning. It’s said that those who take up this sleeping position have a very free personality, and are sociable. But, it’s also believed that they can be over sensitive to criticism.

Which sleeping position is your favourite? Do you feel it’s a reflection of yourself, or do you feel that you only sleep in this position based on comfort?
