How We Aim To Reduce Our Carbon Footprint

By Harriet 23 March 2016

We aim to reduce our carbon footprint

We are heavily focused on helping to reduce our carbon footprint and maintaining an environmentally friendly image, we are aware that a lot of people take company ethics into account before buying their products. Our Solid Scandinavian Pine used to make many of our wooden bed frames is sustainably sourced and all of our wooden bed finishes are specially selected to be as environmentally friendly as possible. All of our solid wooden beds are handmade here in the UK by our team of expert craftsmen, handmade to order, your new wooden bed frame can be made as personal to you as you want. We are pleased to tell you that all of our Solid Pine is responsibly grown and ethically sourced from Scandinavia, it has also been approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Our suppliers work with the FSC to replant trees that have been chopped down for use in manufacturing, this means that for every tree that is removed, a new one is replanted in its place. This reduces the effects of deforestation in the long run.

We use water based stains for the finishes on our wooden bed frames, as these finishes are better for the environment. Water-based stains also maintain their colour for longer, ensuring the colours lasts for years to come. They also support the life of your wooden bed frame, this is why we are able to offer an 11 year structural guarantee with all of our handmade beds.

Get Laid Beds are heavily committed to ensuring the wellbeing of our environment, which is why we aim to use as much timber as possible that is FSC or PEFC certified. We also aim to use colour stains that are better for the environment. Not only are these actions ideal for reducing our carbon footprint, they also work well in making our beds more reliable and durable.
