Making The Most Of Our Wooden Off-Cuts

As a company that makes hand made wooden bed frames on a daily basis, we unfortunately can’t make use of every single scrap and sliver of timber that we use. While we do make the utmost effort to use our timber efficiently, there are some parts of the process where it’s simply impossible to avoid creating unusable waste material. Part of our ethos is to be fully aware of and mindful of our environmental responsibility as a company that uses large amounts of timber. We aim at every opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint and we hate to see anything go to waste.

It’s because of this, that we don’t throw away our wood off-cuts but instead keep them in a storage container on our premises that’s permanently open. Not surprisingly, we’re all huge supporters of DIY and creative projects and we offer all of our timber off-cuts to anybody who’d like some. You can take as much timber as you’d like, seeing as we have no use for it. In fact, we’d absolutely love it if people were to send in photos of any DIY projects they’ve completed using our timber. While we do love our beds, we also have a big enthusiasm for interior and exterior design.

If you do indeed wish to send us some photos of things you’ve made using our timber off-cuts (please do!) then we’d be thrilled to receive them, we’d even be likely to post them on our Facebook page. Seeing as we make such a large quantity of beds, we’re never likely to run out of timber off-cuts, so don’t feel unsure about coming back to take some more, in fact we encourage you to do so. We feel that it’s important that this timber gets used in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, and by allowing others to re-use it, we believe this is the first step to doing so.
