Luxury Latex Mattress - Get Laid Beds

Finding the right mattress for you can take lots of searching so you truly want to optimise the life span of your mattress and ensure that you receive a comfortable night’s sleep for many years to come.

Research suggests that on average, adults spend approximately seven to eight hours out of a twenty four hour day in bed (that’s around a third of your life!) and during these seven hours adults can lose up an average of 0.25L of water due to heat. Where does this water go? Into your lovely mattress sleeping surface, where all sorts of bugs and bacteria can thrive. If you suffer from dust mite fear or have asthma, it may be worth looking at a latex mattress, such as our Luxury Latex as this is naturally dust mite resistant and hypoallergenic making it perfect for those who suffer with allergies. There are a number of ways you can help preserve you mattress and increase the life span – below are some simple tips on how to clean and how to protect your mattress.

1) The best way to protect your mattress is to purchase a mattress protector, this prevents most things from seeping into the mattress and will ensure you do get any stains or build-ups.

2) Dust like beds, just like the rest of your home, therefore just like everything aim to vacuum it as often as possible using the upholstery attachment on the vacuum.

3) Try to turn and/or rotate the mattress every 3 months to even the wear of the fillings inside.

4) Air the room for at least 20 minutes per day, especially in the height of summer and the coldest spells of winter.

5) Don’t walk or jump on the mattress as this will cause it to wear down quicker and can cause weakening ‘pressure point’ spots where your foot has been.

6) If there are any stains use an upholstery shampoo to remove them – wipe thoroughly with a sponge and warm water (wrung out) and allow to dry completely.

A decent mattress if looked after well should maintain its shape and support for 5-10 years, sometimes even more, regardless of the warranty that the supplier provides.
