A good night’s sleep not only benefits mental health but improves relationships and intimacy with your partner, so it’s important to find the best bed for both of you instead of compromising on “good enough”. Whether it’s your first time buying a couples bed together or you’re looking for a change after 25 years of marriage, we have a variety of beautiful, handmade couples beds to choose from.  

All of our beds for couples are lovingly handmade by our expert craftsmen right here at our workshop in Leicester - the heart of rural England. This means we are proud to offer a bespoke customisation service so no matter what you need as a couple, we can provide. And our alteration service doesn’t stop at just our handmade wooden bed frames, it also includes our entire range of bedding and mattresses. 

What Sizes Are Available?

Our couples beds come in a variety of sizes, giving you plenty of options for couples who need personal space. These sizes range from a double bed to a king size, all the way up to a super caesar.

Double couples beds: A double bed is simply perfect for two people. All the space of two singles with the ability to cuddle up.

King size couples beds: A king size couples bed is even more luxurious, giving you both lots of space to toss and turn without waking the other up. Plus, it’s an impressive sight in the bedroom.

What Colours Are Available?

Our beds for couples, as with all of our other collections of handmade bed frames, are available in 17 different finishes so you can have lots of options to fit with your room's aesthetic. A choice of 10 smooth satin stains give a wide range of natural and modern styles applied to our highest quality solid Scandinavian Pine. A few customer favourites are the soothing warm white and sleek black frames, among others. 

However, if you’re looking for something a bit more natural, we recommend choosing one of the sublime options available from our selection of solid hardwoods. Our dark, stylish Walnut and refreshing Oak frame options are a couple of our popular customer choices. Regardless of whether you choose our solid Scandinavian Pine or one of our solid hardwoods, we believe strongly in reducing our carbon footprint and always make the utmost effort to ensure our timber is sourced sustainably from 100% FSC and PEFC approved forests.

What is the best bed for couples?

This differs based on what the couple is looking for. If you like being close to your partner when you sleep and don’t need too much space, a simple full size bed is probably the best bet. But if you’re someone who likes to spread out and you and your partner like to separate when sleeping, maybe go for a king size or even larger. 

How do I assemble a bed for couples?

All of our bed frames for couples come flat packed right to your door. Instructions will be provided with the materials and self assembly is relatively simple. What mattress is the best for couples?

This also depends on the couples’ preferences but on average, most couples decide on a medium firmness as a compromise between too firm and too soft. It’s the safe option, but if you both like it super soft or very firm, then the decision is easy!
