Low Bed Frames FAQs

What Sizes Do Your Low Bed Frames Come in?

An integral part of our low wooden bed frames being handmade is that we can create a low level bespoke bed frame to your exact requirements. As a result, our low beds come in a variety of sizes to suit your needs and space. For example, we can manufacture a low king size bed frame or a low super king bed frame for large bedrooms and petite double beds and a low small double bed for smaller bedrooms. For smaller rooms, low single beds provide an ideal solution, combining practicality with our signature craftsmanship.

Which Finishes Are Available In the Low Beds Range?

We help you to bring a personal element to your bed by offering you ten luxurious satin stain finishes that are available for any model. Choose from such colours as a smooth black beds, gentle white bed frames and sleek grey beds which are among the most popular with our customers.

We also provide you with the opportunity to have your bed made from one of our seven solid hardwoods, which present a more natural and luxurious looking bed frame. Choose between our excellently styled Walnut, the classic solid Oak, or inviting sapele. We aim to ensure the wood we use to make our low wooden bed frames is sourced from sustainable locations and we pride ourselves on respecting our environmental responsibilities.

Are Low Beds Better Than High Beds?

The choice between high vs low beds ultimately comes down to the structure of your bedroom and personal needs. If your main bedroom has a low ceiling, then perhaps a low bed will look better and save you hitting your head on the ceiling in the morning. In addition, if your room is very spacious, a low bed might look out of place, making a standard height bed a better option.

Are Low Bed Frames Good For Wellbeing?

Yes, low bed frames can be a great choice for both comfort and wellbeing. Sleeping closer to the ground helps encourage a more natural, neutral sleeping posture, which can support better spine alignment and reduce pressure on your lower back and hips. Many people also find low beds feel more stable, with less movement or motion transfer during the night — particularly helpful if you’re a light sleeper or share your bed.

Beyond physical comfort, low beds can contribute to a calmer sleep environment. Their lower profile creates a more open, uncluttered feel in the bedroom, which can help your space feel larger and more relaxing. Being closer to the floor can also feel cooler, as air naturally settles lower in the room, making wooden low bed frames especially appealing during warmer months. Combined with their clean, modern aesthetic, low bed frames are a popular choice for those who value both design and quality sleep.

Are Low Beds Good For Seniors?

Whether a low bed is right for a senior depends largely on mobility and personal comfort. Some older adults may find lower beds more challenging, as sitting down or standing up requires greater knee and hip movement. For others, however, the reduced height can offer peace of mind, as there is less distance to fall if movement during sleep is a concern.

For seniors who prioritise ease of access, a standard-height bed or an adjustable bed may be a better option. Standard beds sit at a more traditional height, making it easier to get in and out of bed without strain. Adjustable beds offer even greater flexibility, allowing the sleeping surface to be raised or lowered to suit individual needs, while also providing added comfort through adjustable positioning. Choosing the right bed height is ultimately about balancing style, comfort, and practical day-to-day use.

Are Low Beds Better Than High Beds?

Our minimalist bed frames sit perfectly within scandi and japandi inspired interiors, where proportion matters. Their low profile keeps sightlines open and creates a calm, grounded feel, helping bedrooms feel more spacious and balanced. Clean lines and warm natural wood finishes add subtle character without visual clutter, making the bed a quiet centrepiece rather than a statement that overwhelms the room.
