Sorry, it looks like we don't make that specific bed design.
But, we might be able to customise one for you with our Made To Measure Beds service.
Mortise and tenon joinery – Ottoman beds handle significant force from the lifting mechanism. Our traditional joints are built to handle that torque, keeping the frame perfectly square and silent for years.
Solid timber flooring – Unlike mass produced alternatives that often sag, our wood bases are built to take real weight. This makes the bases more resistant to bowing or breaking than many ottoman beds found on the market.
Straight-lifting struts – Because solid wood doesn't twist, your lifting struts stay perfectly straight. This means you aren't fighting the bed every time you need to grab a spare blanket or pillow.
A silent, stable base – Using solid timber eliminates the metal-on-metal rattles found in mass-produced frames. It provides a heavy, quiet foundation that stays put and won't squeak during the night.
Best for seasonal storage – Use the deep ottoman base for high-volume items you don’t need every day, like winter duvets, suitcases, or heavy coats. If you'll be reaching for items every few days or weekly, our storage beds with drawers might be more convenient for you, as they provide quicker access without needing to lift the mattress.
Don’t lift an empty bed – Our gas struts are calibrated to work with the weight of a mattress. Without it, the lift can behave like a coiled spring, placing unnecessary strain on the frame and joints.
Even weight distribution – It doesn’t have to be perfect, but try and spread the heaviest items across the base rather than stacking them all in one corner. This helps the frame sit perfectly level on the floor. We also recommend putting the heaviest items towards the centre and directly on the bottom.

What mattresses work with an ottoman bed?
Our ottoman frames are designed to work with standard UK mattresses. As long as yours is in good condition, it should work, but if you want total peace of mind, our mattresses are specifically calibrated for our gas-lift systems.
Each bed size has a specific weight ‘goldilocks’ range as we advise against a mattress that’s either too light or too heavy.
Thin, lightweight mattresses - They lack the weight to keep the gas struts compressed, meaning the bed may spring open or won't stay closed.
heavy mattresses - Solid natural latex or very high-count pocket-sprung designs may exceed the lift capacity, making the frame difficult to open and stay up safely.
As a rough guide, let’s use double and king size beds as an example, as they are the most popular sizes we offer. For these sizes, mattresses that are 40-60kg are ideal. If you’re unsure though, our team can help based on your desired bed size.
Will my mattress slide off when the bed is lifted?
The frame is designed with a subtle lip or a high-friction slat system at the head-end to keep the mattress perfectly positioned during the lift. You won’t need to worry about the mattress shifting or needing to be realigned every time you access your storage.
Do you offer side-opening ottoman beds?
We specialise exclusively in the classic foot-opening (bottom-lift) designs. We’ve found this provides the most stable, balanced lift for solid timber frames, ensuring the gas struts remain perfectly aligned and providing a full, clear view and maximum accessibility of the entire storage area.
Is the ottoman mechanism safe?
Absolutely. We use premium, heavy-duty gas struts that offer a controlled, smooth movement. They are designed to prevent the bed from slamming shut; once you start the closing motion, the struts provide resistance to ensure the frame descends safely and quietly.
How much depth is there in the storage compartment?
Because we don't use the bulky internal carcasses found in divan-style ottomans, our solid wood frames maximise the internal height. This provides enough depth for standard suitcases, plastic storage crates, and extra-thick winter duvets that typically won't fit in standard underbed drawers.
